Congratulating CPES graduate - Yadong Lyu

Yadong Lyu completed his M.S. program in January 2017. His defense presentation and thesis, "Modeling and Control Strategy for Capacitor Minimization of Modular Multilevel Converters," are available to CPES members via password access.

Yadong received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering and automation from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China in 2008 and M.S. degrees in power electronic and motor drives from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China in 2011. He joined Virginia Tech in 2014 and received his M.S. degree from the Center for Power Electronics Systems in 2017.

His main research interests include modeling and control of modular multilevel converter, digital controller, high power and high voltage conversion.
Upon graduation, he will join Monolithic Power Systems in San Jose, California, as an Application Engineer.

Yadong Lyu enjoys basketball, dance, swimming, football and music after work.
