Congratulating CPES graduate - Alex Chu

Alex Chu completed his M.S. program in December 2017. His thesis, "Evaluation and Design of a SiC-Based Bidirectional Isolated DC/DC Converter", and defense presentation are now available online to CPES Principal Plus, Principal, and Associate members via password access.

Alex received his Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) with first class honors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand in May, 2011. After spending several years in industry developing power converters for EV/HEV applications, he joined the Center for Power Electronics Systems at Virginia Tech as an M.S. student in August, 2015. His research is focused on the design of high-performance dc-dc concerters uisng wide bandgap semiconductor devices.

Alex enjoys traveling, playing basketball, and drinking coffee in his spare time.
