CPES congratulates our newest graduate, Chao Fei!

Chao Fei completed his Ph.D. program in March 2018. His dissertation, "Optimization of LLC Resonant Converters: State-trajectory Control and PCB based Magnetics" and defense presentation are available online CPES Principal Plus, Principal, and Associate members via password access.

Chao received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with honors from Zhejiang University, China in 2012. He joined the Center for Power Electronics Systems at Virginia Tech as a graduate research assistant the same year. Chao received his M.S degree in 2015, and completed his Ph.D degree in 2018. His research interests includes high-frequency power conversion, resonant converters, digital control, and high-frequency magnetics. Upon graduation, Chao will join Google as Hardware Engineer.

Chao was on the CPES Student Council from 2015-2017, and served as Co-Chair of the 2017 CPES Conference. Besides working in the lab, Chao likes to play basketball and badminton, go hiking and spend time with friends."
