Welcome Back Crane Aerospace & Electronics!
Jun 10, 2021
CPES is excited to announce the return of Crane Aerospace & Electronics to membership in the Industry Consortium at the Principal Plus level.
Crane provides manufacturers and airlines one integrated source for sensing, power, braking, electronics and more. Crane has operated for more than 50 years and their components can be found in more than 15,000 aircraft.
Crane was previously a long-term CPES member from 2000-2016, participating in the Power Management Consortium (PMC) where companies collaborate with CPES researchers developing high-efficiency, high-power-density switch-mode power supplies based on recent developments in wide bandgap (WBG) power devices.
The CPES mini-consortium program provides a unique forum for creating synergy among industries and defining new research directions to meet future industry needs. CPES to pools company resources to focus on developing pre-competitive technologies to address common challenges. Research results developed under the mini-consortium are shared among its members.
As a Principal Plus Member, Crane also benefits from CPES' Intellectual Property Sharing program, a unique IP access mechanism that provides extraordinary advantage, automatically and at no additional cost, to Principal Plus and Principal members. Members are granted a royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use technology developed under the industry consortium by CPES-VT researchers.
