2022 CPES Annual Conference Review

"It was so great to return to an in-person conference!" This exclamation from CPES Annual Conference Chair, Xin Lou was shared by the almost 200 conference participants who came to Blacksburg from April 11th - 13th. Even with lingering pandemic travel challenges, the conference attracted people from Asia and Europe.
In addition, more than 400 people participated in the conference online.
Together, these participants represented 66 CPES Industry Consortium Member Companies and 39 federal, academic and non-member organizations.
This year's conference featured:
- 2 Tutorials and 3 Keynotes given by industry and academic leaders
- 3 Technical Sessions with 15 presentations
- Industry-Student Forum
- 2 Laboratory Dialogue Sessions
"It takes a lot of coordination and effort to make real-time interaction possible between in-person events and our online attendees," says CPES IT guru, Matthew Scanland, "but it went really well."
"We are thrilled to have so many colleagues join us at CPES again," said CPES Director Rolando Burgos. "It was great to talk face-to-face with many of our members and we always appreciate the chance to showcase the advancements our students achieved in the past year."
