CPES Graduate Students Earn Top Honors at APEC2026
Jun 02, 2026

The Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES) proudly celebrates four of its graduate student researchers who were named Best Presentation Award winners at the 2026 Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC).
APEC—renowned for spotlighting the practical, market-driven side of power-electronics—evaluates presentations through scores given by session chairs, weighing clarity, technical depth, relevance to industry, and audience engagement across both Dialogue and Technical sessions.
Technical Sessions
Minh Ngo - Modeling of N-Level Current Balancing Transformers for Modular High Power Transformer Winding Building Blocks; T18 - Magnetics Modelling
Jeet Panchal - Modeling the Electric and Magnetic Near-Field Emissions from SiC-Based Half-Bridge Converters; T21 - Modeling and Simulation
Dialogue Sessions
Yan Liang - Circuit-Based Analytical Model for the Airgap Effect on Current Sharing in Parallel Windings of a Planar PCB Transformer; D11 - Magnetics Applications & Characterization
Pranav Raj Prakash - High-Density, High-Efficiency GaN-Based 800 V/50 V LLC Converter for Future Datacenters; D13 - High Voltage or High Power DC-DC Converters 2
These accolades reinforce CPES’s commitment to bridging theory and industry, and they highlight the pivotal role of graduate scholars in shaping the future of power electronics.
Congratulations to Minh, Jeet, Yan, and Pranav for their well-deserved recognition and for advancing the applied power-electronics community.
