The Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES) congratulates Tarik Teker on the successful defense of his master’s thesis, completed under the guidance of Dr. Christina DiMarino.

Tarik’s research, “Warpage Evaluation of Double-Side Cooled Power Modules with Ceramic Stiffeners,” addresses a key challenge in modern electric vehicle technology—managing heat in increasingly compact and powerful systems.

His work focused on warpage, or slight deformation in power modules, which can reduce cooling effectiveness and impact reliability. His results showed that increasing structural rigidity improves contact with cooling surfaces, reduces thermal resistance, and enhances long-term performance. In particular, designs using ceramic stiffeners demonstrated strong electrical and thermal stability under demanding conditions.

Reflecting on his time at CPES, Tarik shared:

“My experience at CPES shaped me both as a researcher and as a person. I am incredibly grateful for the mentorship and support of my advisor, Dr. Christina DiMarino, as well as the friendships and collaboration of my colleagues at CPES, whose guidance, encouragement, and kindness have made my time here truly memorable.”

We congratulate Tarik on his achievements and his contributions to advancing power electronics research at CPES.
