Sep 12, 2024
CPES is pleased to announce that Zheqing Li earned his PhD after defending his dissertation titled, “High-frequency Power Conversion for Medium Voltage Power Electronics Interfaces.”
Zheqing worked with CPES Professor Qiang Li on research which provides solutions in magnetic design in high-frequency DC/DC converters in the solid-state transformer with medium voltage insulation, including the Litz wire transformer and the PCB winding based transformer applicable to data centers, electric vehicle fast charging, and smart grids.
In addition to his research and class work, Zheqing also served as an area leader, where he presented the array of work taking place in the low power area of the lab to industry members and other visitors. CPES appreciates the excellent job he did in this role.
Reflecting on his graduate education, Zheqing said, “It has been an honor to be part of CPES since 2018. Both Dr. Li and Dr. [Fred] Lee have not only guided me in conducting quality research but have also taught me how to be a better person. I will always cherish the joys and challenges of my time in Blacksburg.”
Zheqing has joined Tesla, a CPES Industry Consortium Member, as a senior power electronics engineer.
We wish you all the best Zheqing!
