April 6-8, 2014 The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center Blacksburg, VA
From the Center Director
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2014 CPES Annual Power Electronics Conference at Virginia Tech, sponsored by the CPES industry consortium. I would like to express my personal gratitude to all industry members, research sponsors, alumni and friends for their continued support, as well as to our students, faculty and staff, whose work and dedication have provided significant contributions to the Center's continuing growth and success.
Tutorials, Invited Talks, Technical & Dialogue Lab Sessions
As before, the CPES Conference will provide a comprehensive overview of the Center's research conducted over the past year. The program will begin on Sunday afternoon with 2 tutorials by CPES faculty. There will be an Invited Plenary Session with 3 invited talks on Monday morning, followed by 70 technical papers presented in 4 Technical Sessions and 4 Dialogue Lab Sessions that will continue into Tuesday.
Expanded Lab Dialogue Session
We are pleased to let you know that in response to industry request, the Lab Dialogue Session this year has been extended, and will begin mid-morning on Tuesday, allowing more time for hardware demo and technical exchanges between students and industry participants.
Our conference program is being updated on an ongoing basis. Please be sure to check back for more details.
Industry-Student Forum
For additional opportunities to mingle with CPES students and faculty, we welcome all participants to join the Industry-Student Forum on Sunday afternoon. To stimulate meaningful interactions, CPES industry members are invited to bring tabletop displays to feature company products.
Conference Reception and Dinner
The Conference Reception and Dinner will be on Monday evening and all participants are invited.
CPES Mini-Consortium Reviews (for mini-consortium members)
In conjunction with the CPES Conference, there will be technical reviews of the 3 CPES mini-consortia.
Mini-consortium reviews on CPES-REN (Renewable Energy and Nanogrids) and CPES-HDI (High Density Integration) will be held in parallel on Sunday morning, April 6. REN and HDI members are cordially invited to attend.
CPES-PMC (Power Management Consortium) review will be held on Wednesday, April 9, following the CPES Conference. PMC members are cordially invited to attend.
We are excited about the opportunity to interact with our colleagues in the power electronics community once again, and look forward to sharing our latest research results with our participants.
